Nail-Biting Suspense

Last night I went to the Boston Celtic's game one play-off game against the New York Knicks. They were down by 12 during half time, and would not have won if it was not for Ray Allen's game saving 3-pointer with less than 30 seconds left!!! It was a great game. The first of many play-off games to come, and a lot of fun. They were also giving away free Celtic's play-off shirts. (Below is a picture I took at the game. I would have posted more, but my computer was not cooperating.)

Baking Up a Storm

Today I baked up a storm! I made Irish bread for my dad's friend. He usually asks me to make bread for him twice a month and I get paid. This bread was for his mom who was visiting from Ireland though, so it was a lot of extra pressure on me. And of course I screwed it up!

After I mixed all the dry ingredients, I was supposed to cut in the butter with a pastry blender, but I kinda sorta forgot the butter... So I had to add it in after the wet ingredients were already incorporated. The batter was funky at first, and I got very nervous. But it all turned out good in the end, and Mrs. Kearns was happy with her bread.

Then, since the oven was on, I randomly decided to make scones. (Yeah, I know. This is totally what a normal teenager does on a Sunday morning.) So I made almond-chocolate chip and plain scones. And they were delicious (no mess-ups this time either).

And I did all of this before 11 o'clock. I am a baking machine (:

Cleanliness is Next to Godliness

I have never really been fond of spring cleaning. Usually my mom makes me and my brother help wash the windows, clean the curtains, and organize endless amounts of junk that is in our house. Over this well-earned vacation though, I am going to enjoy my time off school, but also use the time to do my spring cleaning and get things done that have been on my list for what seems like forever.
(big girl lessons: closet cleaning via classic case)
To Do List:
--Clean desk, closet, dresser, etc...
--Finally put all my iTunes music on my laptop (I have been meaning to do this since Christmas!)
--Pick my book for an English project that's coming up
--Buy a pretty dress for Easter
--Relax!

Fresh Talent

There is a talent show at my school tomorrow. I am not in it because, well, I can't sing and do not have any presentable talent, and even if I did, I do not think that I would be ready to face the harsh reality of high-schoolers.

I do, however, have some interesting tricks and "talents," if you may, and since this blog is still just starting out, I'll share them with my prospective followers who do not know the amazing Michelle. :)

  • I can wiggle my ears.
  • I can easily untie unruly knots.
  • I can shape my tongue into a "four-leaf clover."
happy saint patrick’s day!
  • I have a good memory for names.
  • I am (almost) never late.

  • I am not a bad doodler. This comes from loads of experience in Algebra class...

  • And I have the fabulous talent of getting so amazingly sick on airplanes that neither of my parents want to sit next to me we go on a 6-hour flight to Ireland (so they take turns)!

    What's your hidden talent?

    Here Comes the Sun

This song was played today in English class by a fellow classmate, and it was stuck in my head all day! (That's a good thing, by the way!)

Too bad it was raining today in Boston. But this song was bright and happy and cheery during second period today, and I thought everyone could use some Beatles cheer for today's bleak and depressing weather.

    J'adore

There are many reasons to love France.

Eiffel Tower. Paris. Berets. Chanel. Croissants. Balconies with flower pots. Cafes. Art. Seine River. Bridges. Arc de Triomphe. Champagne. Escargot. Fashion. Bicycles. Luxury. Perfume. French, the beautiful language.

France is a magical place. This language is beautiful, and if it wasn't gone because of budget cuts in my city, I can say with ease that I would love taking foreign language.

I would love to go to Paris to shop, sightsee, and just enjoy. Its a dream of mine, but its a dream that I will make a reality someday!

    Pedaling Paradise

I have a "thing" for antique bikes. Its almost as intense as my "thing" for antique cars. But not quite...

They are so fun and cute (and useful)! Therefore: I need a bike. Its a great method of transportation and I haven't had a bike since 6th grade, but then I grew. (A lot!)

This bike is by Adeline Adeline, partners with Kate Spade. Isn't it just adorable!
    Kate Spade Bicycle LRG
Adeline Adeline "Abici--Kate Spade New York Bicycle" -- $1,100

Well since this bike isn't in my price range, I think I could settle for this bike. :)
Schwinn "Schwinn Women's Gateway City Bike" -- $199.99
