Even though this sign is from 1942 (during World War II), when women took on jobs intended for men while their husbands were off at war, I feel that is still inspiring to woman today. While in study, I see this poster every day, but I never knew the story around it...
The woman depicted in the famous picture is known as Rosie the Riveter. She was a cultural icon of the United States, representing the American women who worked in factories during World War II. She is a feminist icon from that time period, and I think she is inspiring for women by promoting the positive. "We can do it" is a positive, up-beat message that is very optimistic and glass half full-esque.
