Homerun

Today my history class went to a field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts and then to the Prudential Center/Copley Place.  The Museum was educational and somewhat boring, but I enjoyed the shopping part of it!

A few of my friends and I got kids meals at Flamers for lunch, and also got Pinkberry fro-yo for dessert.  (I know, twice in one week!  But I have never had it before this week, and I probably will not for a long time.  In case you were wondering, I got original frozen yogurt with raspberries, coconut, and crushed-up Oreo cookies.  Delicious.)

Then we roamed around the mall looking for stores to go into (that we could actually afford--unlike Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Free People, etc).  And something amazing happened!  We were walking along, and my friend Abby starts freaking out.  She saw Adrian Gonzalez just strolling around the mall with his wife.  So we did the first thing that teenage girls usually do:  squeal with excitement and freak out.

We ended up walking behind him for a while before actually building up the courage to ask him if we could get a picture with him.  I would like to say that he is very polite (and tall) in person.  That was the excitement of the day, and my brother was very jealous of me.  (Although I am really jealous of his signed picture of Ray Allen.  So I guess we are even.)  Here are some pictures of the amazing Red Sox first baseman, Adrian Gonzalez.

Seeing Red

There are so many telephone booths in London that you might think you are seeing red.  There are not really many pay-phones around anymore with the rise of cell phones, but there is no lack of in London, England.  The color red was chosen because it was easy to spot.

There has been quite a reduction of telephone booths in recent years, but they can still be found in many places around the city.  I think they are as iconic to the city of London as the Eiffel Tower is to Paris, and they are also nice to look at.  So next time you are in London and seeing red, give me a ring. :)

A Girl In Need Of...

... a new wallet!

There is a Kate Spade sample sale on until May 19th, and if I was a lot richer, I would be buying things left and right!

They have quite a few cute wallets on sale.  Below are just a couple, but if you want to see more, go to this website.

Kate Spade 'Jane Street Maria' in Black -- $175 $79 sale

Kate Spade 'Pasadena Neda' in Citronella -- $185 $75 sale

Unfortunately, these "sale" items are still not cheap enough for me.  I am still in need of a wallet, though.  I want either a black one that will match everything, or a brightly colored one that will stand out in my bag, and can be easily found.  I want one similar in size to the ones from Kate Spade, whether it is a zip-close one or a clutch-wallet.  If anyone knows a good place to find a cute one, please let me know.  (I am going into Boston tomorrow if that helps.)  Until then I'll be a girl in need of a wallet.

Hunting for Hunters

I looked at the forcast for this upcoming week, and look what I found!

I thought rain was in April, and flowers were in May.  Guess not.  But until then, having some quality rain boots would help.  The buckles on mine broke, and I am longing for these Hunter ones.  But they are far too expensive for a rubber boot, so I will just have to settle for a pair from Marshalls or Target (which are affordable and adorable).

Hunter 'Original Tall' Rain boot in Egg Blue--$125

When Life Gives You Lemons

Make lemonade, lemon cupcakes, lemon and rosemary chicken, or really anything.  Use them to the best of your abilities, and do not take them for granted.

This is one of those sayings that really inspires me.  I try to make the most of every opportunity, and this quote really hits that home.

So when life gives you lemons, make something out of them.  (Preferably a yummy treat!)

Lucky Me

My mom had to return a couple of t-shirts at Marshalls, so I tagged along.  Little did I know, I would fall in love with a pair of Lucky Brand ballet flats.  I tried them on about 20 times, just longingly looking at them.  My mom saw me staring at them, and viola!  I now own a new pair of rose/nude-colored flats that are absolutely, positively adorable.

They are the only pair of elasticated flats that I own, and I like that they will not slip on and off my feet when walking.  I have always been skeptical to buy a pair of those type of shoes, for fear that they would look silly, but these ones are my perfect size (I got an 8.5 instead of a 9), and they fit like a glove.

Newbury Street

Today I went to Newbury Street in Boston with some of my friends.  I went to Pinkberry for the first time, and can honestly say that I am hooked.  I got chocolate fro-yo with raspberries and coconut on top, and it was delicious.

Then we went to the Forever 21, and I got a pretty floral skirt, a white cami, and an orange ribbed tank all for under $17!

Forever 21 'Jersey Rose Skirt'--$8.80

I also got a pair of champagne-colored pearl earrings at a cute little store called Lit.  All in all, Boston was a success, and I can't wait to go back on Wednesday for a field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts.
